The Problem
Instead of investing in myself, I invest in contests, submissions, and applications with the hope of growing their readership and audience.
But I don't control the results. If I get rejected, my work never enters the world. I never learn how to bring my art to the world on my own terms.
No one finds me. I have no impact.
The Solution
I present my art to the world how and when I want
so it is findable in the present and future
even years after I create it.
I am found and impact people I know
as well as those I don't.
Getting found looks like:
*getting requests for interviews
*people buying books/materials
*companies sponsoring videos and writing
*collaborations on writing and video projects
*travel opportunities I am offered and create
*people seeking my opinion and telling others
*discovering novel ideas the world wants to hear
*ad revenue
*having readers/viewers for 24+ hours every day
*putting my work into the world
on my own schedule, on my terms
*impacting others so much that some of them insist on paying me

My name is Geoff. I'm a poet and an online language teacher. Honestly, there are a lot of both in the world!
When my language center closed and I needed to find my own students, it was hard. No one knew who I was or why to pick me over others.
So, I turned to Youtube in 2019. Since then, nearly every client who finds me found me through my channel.

Along the way, I've learned more about writing, video production, audio editing, and presentation--and I'd like to teach them to you over weeks instead of years.

This is my first teaching channel, started in 2019.
Years later, the 8th and 9th most popular videos are from 2021.
This is my second teaching channel, started in 2022.
Years later, the 6th most popular video is from December 21st, 2022
The diVERSES channel, started in 2022 is still getting top-10 views from that first year, too.
This is just the Youtube channel--it doesn't include podcasts (which I made from stripping the audio of my Youtube videos) or blogs/social media (which I made from transcripts of Youtube videos).

This is not to say that Youtube, video, or audio is easy
or immediate.
However, it compounds--what you make today will be found tomorrow, months from now, years from now.
